Accordingly, the central question posed is: What is the essence of history and its most significant functions in the worldview of reformist historians of this era, and how has it influenced their historiographical methodology? The findings of this study indicate that Iranian intellectuals—particularly the reformist elite—were significantly influenced by the intellectual and cultural transformations of their time. The efforts of Persian historiography to approximate modern historiographical methods led this group to formulate a new definition of history as a science. This development reaches its peak in the historiographical works of Nazem al-Islam Kermani and Mehdi Malekzadeh. Both historians endeavor to distance themselves from traditional historiography and align more closely with modern historiographical paradigms. The impact of this shift is clearly evident in their historical writings.</p> <p>تحلیل بینش مورخان نواندیش عصر ناصرالدین شاه و مظفرالدین شاه در تعریف از چیستی علم تاریخ از مهم‌ترین اهداف این مقاله است. از این روی برای تحقق این هدف پرسشی چنین مطرح است: چیستی تاریخ و مهم‌ترین کارکردهای آن در بینش و نگرش مورخان نواندیش این دوران چیست و چه تأثیری بر روش تاریخ‌نگاری آنان داشته است؟ نتایج این پژوهش حاکی از ان است که تأثیرپذیری ایرانیان و مخصوصاٌ روشنفکران ایرانی از تحولات فکری و فرهنگی زمانه خویش و تلاش تاریخ‌نگاری فارسی برای نزدیکی به تاریخ‌نگاری نوین، باعث شکل‌گیری تعریف جدیدی از این علم نزد این گروه گردید که اوج آن را در تاریخ نگاری ناظم الاسلام کرمانی و مهدی ملک زاده مشاهده می‌نماییم. هردو مورخ تلاش دارند تا با فاصله گرفتن از تاریخ نگاری سنتی خود را به تاریخ نگاری نوین نزدیک نمایند. به گونه‌ای که تأثیر این تحول را به عینه در تاریخ نگاری آنان مشاهده می‌نماییم.</p> https://journalspsich.com/index.php/journalspsich/article/download/260/383
