A Study on the Life and Works of Ebrahim Bastani Parizi: Historian and Literary Figure from Kerman

This article analyzes the life and writing style of Ebrahim Bastani Parizi, one of the prominent Iranian historians and writers. Bastani Parizi, by utilizing the native vocabulary and idiomatic expressions of Kerman and extensively employing colloquial metaphors and proverbs, successfully combined historical narratives with cultural and local elements, distinguishing his works from those of other writers. These characteristics imbue his works with a unique identity that not only fosters a close connection with Iranian readers but also gives his writings a distinctly national and local flavor. Among his other notable features is his ability to recreate history with a simple yet engaging narrative, which acquaints readers with the lesser-known aspects of Iranian culture and history. The research methodology of this study is based on the collection of data from online, documentary, and library resources and includes content analysis of these materials. The primary aim of this paper is to introduce and highlight the personal and professional dimensions of Ebrahim Bastani Parizi as a historian who adopted a unique approach to addressing culture and history. He sought to combine history with colloquial language and culture, guiding readers toward a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the history of Persian literature and culture.
