Investigating the importance of oral history in the transmission of folk culture and political culture and its impact on the local culture of societies in Iran.

The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the importance of oral history in the transmission of folk culture (folklore) and its impact on the local culture of societies. The research methodology is descriptive-exploratory and the qualitative method is conducted using the meta-study method. Therefore, the dominant approach of the research is the secondary analysis method. The target population was all studies conducted in relation to oral history, folk culture (folklore) and local culture in the period (1380-1403) and (1960-2023). The sample size of the target population was determined using the screening process of the title, abstract and text of 19 sources. The results of the analysis of the sources indicate that oral history is effective in preserving and promoting local culture in societies through the factors of creating cultural identity, preserving local subcultures, preserving local history, preserving social identity and revitalizing local bioculture.
